We are a well-established general practice that provides comprehensive healthcare in Karuah and are seeking a highly motivated experienced Practice Manager with nursing qualifications to join our team of health professionals in Karuah Medical Centre.
This opportunity will require someone with strong industry experience and is either ready to step up into a management position or already working in practice management. We desire a ‘CAN DO’ attitude and a positive outlook to ensure the practice supports its health professionals.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing the team including training, rosters and team performance
- Identifying and troubleshooting daily operational activities
- Compliance and quality assurance activities
- Liaison and follow up with doctors and allied health professionals
- Overseeing Medicare billings and claims
- High level of rapport with all health professionals
- Efficient appointment system for practitioners
- Maintaining the professional and smooth running of the practice, supporting Doctors, Nurse and Administration staff
- Maintaining the practice policies and procedures; leading quality improvement initiatives and the practice accreditation process
- Coordinate and assist with staff recruitment, leave, and training
- Attend to nursing tasks pertaining to the practice
- Routine, childhood and travel vaccination knowledge and be able to deliver immunisation
- Post vaccination observations and monitoring
- Able to triage patient and understand acute care needs
- Performing health assessments
- Assisting GP with minor procedures
- Coordination, management, and maintenance of patient clinical data
- Wound dressings and removal of sutures
- Health education and coaching to support patients with achievement of their goals
- Use Medical Director software
- Treatment Room Management
- Regular stock count and supply replenishment
- Assist receptionist and general clinic duties when required

Preferred Criteria:
- Previous experience in a general practice setting
- Experience in Chronic diseases management
- Immunisation accredited
- Well Women's screening
To be successful in this position, you will need to possess
- Current CPR certificate
- Insured for own practice indemnity
- Current AHPRA registration as an RN.
- Medical practice management experience
- Excellent communication and clinical skills when liaising with various parties.
- The ability to build a strong rapport with internal and external customers.
- Good computer skills, particularly when communicating with IT.
- Knowledge of Medical Director and Microsoft Office is preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail and focused on high quality outcomes.
- Good understanding of Medicare and billing processes and follow ups.
- Ability to oversee and manage practice staff.
- Empathy when dealing with patients.
- Able to work constructively with management and practitioners to ensure continuous improvement of outcomes.
- Experienced in staff management, rostering and coordinating health professionals.
- Problem solving skills.
- Ability to take a leading role and co-ordinate practice accreditation.
- Strong leadership, communication, mentoring and motivational skills.

Desirable
- Practice Management experience in general practice and proficiency in Medicare, DVA, Workcover and private billings – experience with PRODA preferred.
