Looking for an experienced Nursery Manager. Must have previous experience running a nursery, must know all aspects of a plant nursery operation, including plant propagation, cultivation, inventory management, sales, staff supervision, and ensuring the health and quality of plants while adhering to industry standards and regulations, requiring a deep knowledge of horticulture and strong business acumen to maintain profitability and customer satisfaction.


Key responsibilities:
• Plant Management:
• Overseeing the propagation of plants through methods like cuttings, seeds, and grafting.
• Monitoring plant health, identifying and addressing pests and diseases.
• Managing plant inventory, including tracking stock levels, rotation, and forecasting demand.
• Selecting appropriate plant varieties for the local market and climate.
• Implementing proper watering, fertilization, and pruning practices.
• Staff Supervision:
• Hiring, training, and supervising nursery staff including seasonal employees.
• Delegating tasks and assigning work schedules based on seasonal demands.
• Ensuring staff adheres to safety protocols and proper plant handling techniques.
• Sales and Marketing:
• Setting pricing strategies and managing sales promotions
• Creating attractive displays and merchandising plants to enhance customer experience
• Providing knowledgeable advice to customers regarding plant selection and care
• Managing customer relations and addressing inquiries
• Operational Management:
• Maintaining the nursery grounds, including irrigation systems, greenhouse facilities, and outdoor planting areas
• Managing nursery budget, including cost control and inventory management
• Complying with local regulations regarding plant health, pest control, and environmental standards
• Ordering plant stock from wholesalers and managing supplier relationships


Requirements:
• Plant Passion: Knowledge of plants and gardening is a plus, but a willingness to learn is essential.
• Customer Service Skills: Friendly, helpful, and approachable personality.
• Physical Stamina: Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for long periods.
• Team Player: Positive attitude with a collaborative mindset.
• Availability: Must be able to work weekends.
