Remedial Massage Therapist


Position Summary: The Remedial Massage Therapist delivers therapeutic massage

treatments to clients, aiming to address musculoskeletal conditions, alleviate pain, and promote

overall wellness. This role requires conducting client assessments, developing individualised

treatment plans, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care.

A key performance indicator for this position is maintaining a combined client retention rate of at

least 35%, emphasising the importance of building and sustaining strong client relationships.

Additionally, the therapist is expected to mentor new therapists entering the business and the

industry, fostering their professional growth and integration into the team. The therapist will also

ensure high team morale, maintain a clean and functional workspace and manage inventory

levels from time to time, the therapist may also be called upon to perform additional tasks such

as administrative work, assisting with marketing activities, coordinating with contractors or

other third parties, and maintaining an efficient appointment schedule in collaboration with the

administrative team. Therapist may also be called upon to work at other clinic locations as

required.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Client Assessment & Physical Evaluation: Conduct thorough consultations, assessing

posture, range of motion, muscle tension, and movement patterns. Identify muscular

imbalances and underlying issues to inform treatment strategies.

  1. Treatment Planning: Develop and implement personalised treatment plans utilising

techniques such as deep tissue massage, sports massage, myotherapy, dry needling,

and pregnancy massage.

  1. Therapeutic Intervention: Perform targeted massage therapies to treat injuries, improve

circulation, and relieve stress and pain.

  1. Client Education: Provide guidance to client on self-management strategies, including

exercises and lifestyle modifications, to support recovery and health maintenance.

  1. Clinic Maintenance and Inventory Management: Ensure treatment areas and

equipment are clean, sanitised, and organised, adhering to health and safety regulations.

Monitor stock levels of oils, creams, and other supplies, ensuring that par stock levels are

always maintained. Report any maintenance issues promptly to management to ensure a

safe and functional environment.

  1. Client Retention: Actively engage in efforts to retain clients by fostering strong

professional relationships and encouraging regular follow-up sessions.

  1. Team Support: Assist in training and guiding new therapists by sharing best practices,

hands-on techniques, and client management strategies to foster their professional

growth.

  1. Appointment Scheduling and Efficiency: Appointment Scheduling & Efficiency: Work

with the administrative team to optimise bookings, minimise downtime, and prevent

scheduling conflicts using clinic software.

  1. Team Collaboration: Work closely with other healthcare professionals within the clinic to

provide integrated and holistic care.

  1. Professional Development: Stay informed about the latest developments and

techniques in remedial massage therapy through continuous education and training.

  1. Compliance: Adhere to all relevant health regulations, clinic policies, and professional

standards to ensure the safety and well-being of clients and staff.

Qualifications:

? Diploma of Remedial Massage or higher.

? At least 3 years of work experience as a Remedial Massage Therapist

? Professional indemnity insurance.

? Member of Myotherapy/Remedial Massage Associate

? Eligibility for provider numbers with Australian health funds.

? Proficiency in various massage techniques, including deep tissue, sports, and

myotherapy.

? Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

? Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

? Commitment to ongoing professional development.

? Willingness and ability to mentor and support new therapists.

? Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage inventory and maintain a clean

workspace.

? Proficiency in scheduling software and appointment management to ensure efficient

booking and minimise conflicts.

? Physical stamina to perform massages for extended periods.

Working Hours: The clinic operates Monday to Friday from 7 AM to 9 PM and Saturday and

Sunday from 9 AM to 6 PM. Flexibility in scheduling is required to meet client needs within these

hours
