Role Overview

We are currently seeking a detail-focused and results-driven Estimator with strong expertise in ceilings, partitions, doors, and windows to join our estimating team. The successful candidate will have proven experience using V6 Estimating Software and On-Screen Takeoff (OST), and will play a key role in preparing competitive, accurate, and timely cost estimates for a variety of commercial projects across South Australia.

Key Responsibilities

1. Conduct comprehensive and precise quantity takeoffs using OST for ceilings, partitions, doors, and windows packages.
2. Input and manage data through V6 Estimating Software to produce clear and concise cost estimates.
3. Analyse project documentation including architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and tender requirements.
4. Collaborate with project managers, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to source and validate pricing and scopes of work.
5. Prepare and submit tender submissions, RFI logs, clarifications, and trade breakdowns.
6. Participate in value engineering exercises and offer alternative solutions where appropriate.
7. Maintain and update unit cost databases and historical project data for future tenders.
8. Support post-tender negotiations and handovers to delivery teams.
9. Attend site inspections and tender briefings as required.

Required Skills & Experience

1. Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in commercial construction estimating, specifically in ceilings, partitions, doors, and windows.
2. Advanced proficiency in V6 Estimating Software and On-Screen Takeoff (OST) is essential.
3. Solid understanding of construction detailing, building codes, and specifications relevant to the Australian market.
4. Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering documentation.
5. Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in takeoffs and costing.
6. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
8. Ability to manage multiple tenders and meet strict deadlines.

Desirable Qualifications

1. Degree or diploma in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
2. Experience working with Bluebeam or other digital markup tools.
3. Previous exposure to Tier 1 or Tier 2 commercial projects in South Australia.
4. Understanding of local Adelaide construction market and supply chains.
