Disability Services officer/General Clerk/Disabled Carer/Personal Care Assistant

Salary: $88,000 – $95,000 per year

About the Role:

The Disability Services officer will be responsible for supporting management by developing, implementing, and reviewing efficient rosters as per program needs within the TK Community Care Services service area. This role involves both directly supporting people with disabilities and leading a team of Support Workers, guide and support service offerings that improve the wellbeing and inclusion of individuals.

Roles and Responsibilities:

· Work in partnership with participants and their families to achieve individual goals within approved funding allocations.

· Ensure all participants receive high-quality, person-centred care and support as outlined in their Service Agreement Plan (SAP).

· Monitor participant wellbeing, maintain dignity and confidentiality, and immediately escalate concerns to the Team Leader or Management.

· Lead, supervise, and mentor Support Workers to ensure proactive, high-standard service delivery.

· Facilitate monthly house meetings and act as a role model for staff in professionalism, communication, and ethical conduct.

· Provide induction and training for new employees, including CTARS system use and compliance with policies and procedures.

· Participate in performance development meetings, identify training needs, and complete all mandatory training within required timeframes.

· Maintain accurate and up-to-date records including rosters, timesheets, staff leave, participant notes, communication books, handover forms, and medical/dietary intake records.

· Record and report all incidents, hazards, near misses, and emergencies through CTARS in line with TKCCS policies and mandatory timelines.

· Provide reports and data collection for internal systems and relevant external portals as required.

· Support the development, review, and implementation of person-centred programs in collaboration with the Team Leader.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

· Certificate IV/Diploma in Disability or equivalent relevant experience.

· At least 3 years of demonstrated experience working in the disability or mental health sector.

· Ability to analyse and assess the rosters for skill gaps, recruitment needs and leave management.

· Flexibility to work various shifts including but not limited to, short shifts, day, afternoon, evening and night shifts, including weekends.

Salary: $70,000 – $80,000 per year

About the Role:

The purpose of this role is to coordinate and manage the rosters for all support workers required across a designated Supported Independent Living (SIL) and Community Service area, ensuring staffing levels for a 24-hour a day/7 days a week basis is met to support them to achieve their safety, independence and quality of life goals. Working as part of an administration team, you will maintain an effective and consistent approach to service delivery under the direction of the Manager.

Roles and Responsibilities:

· Actively and cooperatively participate as a member of the centralised workforce rostering team, bringing new ideas on ways we can continuously improve.

· Match support workers to meet the service needs of participants including monitoring staff attendance and report any concerns

· Ensure day to day re-scheduling is managed to cover unplanned changes, communicating any changes effectively with House Coordinators.

· Manage the rostering system Deputy for communicating to staff the care support of our client.

· Ensure rosters are consistent, efficient, fair, and maintaining within support workers contract hours

· Administrative ongoing support to the manager as and when required.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

· Certificate IV in Community Services Management or in a relevant field

· At least two years previous relevant experience in an administration role with demonstrated organizational and time management skills.

· Demonstrated strong computing skills and the ability to use software applications such as Microsoft Office and cloud-based systems.

· Excellent negotiation, problem solving, and communication skills to deal effectively with a range of staff from diverse culture background.

The Disabled Carer position is responsible for providing TK Community Care Services clients to acquire independent living skills and to support them on individual needs in the home environment and in the community in accordance with individual care plans.

Roles and Responsibilities:

· Provide direct high-level care, support and assistance including but not limited to communication, personal care, showering, dressing, toileting, laundry, household task, shopping, menu planning, meal preparation and hoisting to each client in accordance with their service plan and as directed by the Manager.

· Provide respite care to the participant in a manner that is meaningful and may include in-home care, household task, activities, and outings.

· Work in accordance with the medication administration policy, work health and safety procedures and participant right’s policies including privacy and confidentiality.

· Support participants to access activities and outings in the community.

· Assist in transporting participants to access community and social activities and/or medical and doctor appointments

Required Qualifications and Experience:

· Certificate III in Disability or in a relevant field.

· At least 1 year of relevant experience as a Disabled carer.

· Flexibility to work varied shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, short and overnight shifts, and in remote communities.
