Parallel Workshop Pty Ltd is a Melbourne-based architecture and interior design firm known for thoughtful, layered design.

We’re seeking a Civil Engineering Draftsperson to support our residential and urban projects. In this role, you’ll bring structure, clarity, and technical insight to help realize designs that are both inspiring and enduring.

Job Duties

As a Civil drafter, you’ll play a key role in bringing our architectural visions to life by shaping the infrastructure that supports them. Your work will include:

1.Design and draft for subdivision, built form and infrastructure projects.

2.Design and draft of earthworks, roads, car parks, stormwater, sewer, and water.

3.Liaise with engineers and architects for project design and specifications.

4.Review rough sketches, drawings, specifications, and other engineering data received from engineers to ensure that they conform to design concepts.

5.Finish and duplicate drawings and documentation packages according to required mediums and specifications for reproduction, using blueprinting, photography, or other duplicating methods.

6.Attend project meetings and site when necessary.

7.Conduct site inspections and coordinating the maintenance of work if necessary.

8.Compute and analyse data for civil design.

9.Collect information from soil analysis, traffic surveys and other specific analysis report.

10.Estimate project costs and ensure the civil design stays with budget.

What You’ll Bring:

1. Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant civil design software (e.g. Civil 3D, Revit, or similar)
2. Experience in architectural environments or cross-disciplinary teams (highly regarded)
3. Working knowledge of Australian Standards for civil engineering and infrastructure
4. Curiosity, precision, and the confidence to contribute ideas, not just drawings
5. Ability to balance technical compliance with creative collaboration
