The Opportunity

Due to recent business growth and increasing financial complexity, ProactFM is creating a new in-house Accountant position. With our expanding operations and growing workforce, we are now seeking to establish a dedicated internal accounting function to support the company’s financial oversight and strategic planning.

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team. This full-time permanent position is based at our head office in Frenchs Forest, NSW.

You will be responsible for managing the company’s day-to-day financial operations, preparing key financial documents, ensuring compliance with tax obligations, and supporting strategic business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Prepare and analyse financial reports, statements, and budgets
2. Maintain accurate and timely accounting records using Accounting Software
3. Ensure compliance with all relevant Australian taxation and financial reporting requirements
4. Assist with monthly and annual financial closings
5. Process reconciliations and support payroll functions
6. Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and financial institutions as required
7. Recommend and implement process improvements to improve financial efficiency
8. Support management in financial planning and decision-making

Skills and Experience

1. Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Accounting or a related field (required)
2. At least 2 years of experience in an accounting role (Australia or overseas)
3. Strong knowledge of Australian accounting and taxation frameworks
4. Proficiency in MYOB, Xero, and Microsoft Excel
5. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
6. Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
7. CPA or CA qualification (or working towards it) is desirable
