Willemsen Group, a leader in residential and commercial property development and management, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Graduate Accountant to support our expanding operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in property accounting and be proficient in industry-relevant financial systems.
Salary range: $75,000 - $85,000 per annum
Location: ACT 2600
About the role:
Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:
- Preparation of monthly reports and assist with budgeting and forecasting.
- Ensure timely and accurate calculation, reporting, and payment of GST, and the preparation and submission of BAS in compliance with Australian taxation regulations
- Monitor actual income and expenditure with budgets, performing variance analysis to aid business decision-making
- Perform internal audit to ensure appropriate allocation of expenses, cash flow management and financial integrity
- Monitor actual and forecast expenses for each property portfolio
- Maintain daily financial operations using SAGE Accounting Software and Sage Timberline Property Management Systems
- Liaise with tenants and property managers, to address finance-related queries and issues.
- Conduct thorough financial reconciliations to ensure the precision and integrity of financial data in compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, tax obligations, and internal policies and procedures related to finance and accounting.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or a related field
- A minimum of two-years relevant experience in accounting or a similar role.
- Knowledge of SAGE Accounting Software and Sage Timberline Property Management Systems is essential
- Solid grasp of accounting principles, with a particular focus on reconciliations, balance sheets, and profit and loss statements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to convey complex financial information in a clear and understandable manner.
- Familiarity with Australian accounting standards.
- Thorough understanding of key accounting concepts.
- Australian experience is essential
