As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a dedicated Accountant to join our professional
head office team in Ashmore.
About the Role
This role will see you being responsible for the day to day financial / management
accounting functions of our group entities and ensuring timely and accurate reporting of
monthly results.
Join our finance team and support a diverse range of accounting and analytical activities,
help drive process and system improvements and get involved in a variety of upcoming
projects within the finance arena.
Your day will involve:
? Month-end closing includes prepayments, accruals, and GL account reconciliations for
accurate financial position provided on time under AASB requirements.
? Maintaining the integrity of the general ledger including delivering timely and
accurate monthly financial, EC and Board reports.
? Ensuring adequate application of financial accounting standards in the general
ledger.
? Preparation of BAS, FBT returns and tax schedules.
? Preparation of cash flow forecast and managing cash flow.
? Assist with annual group insurance renewals, group budget & forecasting and group
audit.
? Respond to requests for information, highlight trends and potential issues through
the analysis and interpretation of data
? Successfully build and maintain strong and collaborative relationships with all
stakeholders.
? Process improvement initiatives.
? Preparing monthly management reports, including profit and loss, balance sheet
reconciliations, and cash flow forecasts
What we are looking for:
? CPA or CA qualification (or currently pursuing) is highly regarded
? AQF with a bachelor degree or higher qualification
? At least 1 year of work experience in Australia
? Experience using MYOB, Xero, or similar accounting software
? Superior Microsoft Excel and Word skills
? Knowledge of accounting principles and relevant standards
? Experience in understanding complex financial reports
? Detailed understanding of Financial Systems
? Strong people skills and communication skills (both written and verbal)
? Strong organisation skills and the ability to prioritise competing deadlines
Skills and Experience
? Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
? Minimum 2+ years’ experience in a similar full-function accounting role
? Solid understanding of tax obligations and accounting regulations in Australia
? Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail
? Experience using MYOB, Xero, or similar accounting software
? Excellent time management and problem-solving abilities
? CPA or CA qualification (or currently pursuing) is highly regarded
