About the Role
Due to continued growth in our business across South Australia and Western Australia, we are seeking a professional, friendly, and detail-oriented full-time Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting functions.
Key Responsibilities of the Role
- Preparation of the monthly financial statements (Profit & Loss, Balance sheet and Cash Flow statements)
- Maintain documentation and procedures aligned with internal audit and regulatory expectations to serve as an assurance about the accuracy of information contained in financial reports and their compliance with statutory requirements
- Perform month-end reporting, account reconciliations, and journal postings
- Perform daily bank, debit/credit card and petty cash reconciliations
- Monitor cash flow to ensure adequate working capital for day-to-day operations
- Process Accounts Payable: invoice entry, payment application, purchase order matching, reconciling supplier statements, and ensuring timely payments
- Process Accounts Receivable: billing customers' invoices, matching receipts to invoices and ensuring timely collections
- Process inter-company transactions across business units
- Use accounting software (Xero) to manage day-to-day accounting activities and generate reports
- Conduct budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support the Managing Director with business decisions
- Ensure BAS, IAS, PAYG, and superannuation obligations (AU) are prepared and reported accurately
- Provide support to the Managing Director in ad-hoc projects
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes and procedures
- Support the administration in completing routine tasks and performing other ad-hoc duties as required
Key skills and qualifications required:
- A tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum 1 year of experience in an accounting/finance-related role is preferred
- Planning to start a professional body such as CPA/CA
- Proficiency in Xero or similar cloud-based accounting software
- MS Office Suite – Excel (Advanced)
- Integrate into and become a key part of a small, friendly team
- A ‘Can do’ attitude with a willingness to learn and assist in the growth and expansion of the company
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- High level of accuracy and thoroughness in all work performed
What we offer
Permanent position - Monday to Friday
Salary Package: $80,000 - $90,000 + Super
Supportive and professional team environment
Flexibility to work remotely and travel interstate
