About the Role
We’re looking for a qualified Accountant to Join our growing Darwin team as an Assistant Accountant, supporting its finance team on budgeting, reporting, and compliance for multiple construction projects. Work with senior accountants to prepare financial records, reconcile accounts, monitor costs, and ensure compliance. Help drive financial accuracy and support our remote and community-focused initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Bank Reconciliations of multiple banks.
- Compiling accurate and timely accounting of credit card journals.
- Preparation of BAS workings of ATO.
- Accurately maintain accurate job costs for multiple jobs.
- Work with project team on their request for cost reports
- Assist on bank payments for the suppliers and subcontractors.
- Assist on raising invoices to Customers.
- Assist on internal audits and upkeep documents for audits.
- Assist on new tenders and job budgets.
- Maintaining the accuracy of financial records and ensuring compliance with Australian accounting standards and statutory reporting requirements.
- Supporting the implementation and use of integrated accounting software for multi-site construction operations and logistics coordination.
- Helping maintain internal control systems to safeguard company assets and ensure transparency across multiple projects.
- Work with CFO/FC on daily cash flow reports.
- Complete other ad hoc task allocated by senior accountant/FC/CFO
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Accounting is mandatory
- Minimum 1-2 years of Experience in a relevant field
- Strong grasp of Australian accounting standards, compliance, and reporting obligations
- Proficiency in cloud-based accounting systems (e.g. MYOB, Xero, or any similar)
- Analytical mindset and problem-solving capabilities
- Commitment to working in a culturally inclusive environment and supporting Indigenous development goals
