Accountant


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare financial statements for presentation to directors, management, shareholders, and statutory bodies.
  2. Examine and analyse operating costs and income & expenditure.
  3. Maintain and enhance internal control systems.
  4. Assist in formulating budgetary and accounting policies.
  5. Provide assurance on the accuracy of financial reports and compliance with statutory requirements.
  6. Conduct financial investigations, prepare reports, undertake audits, and provide advice on matters such as business purchases/sales, mergers, capital financing, and taxation.
  7. Prepare and lodge taxation returns for all types of entities like, Individuals, partnerships, Companies, Trust & SMSFs.
  8. Liaise with financial institutions and brokers to establish fund management arrangements.
  9. Introduce and maintain accounting systems and advise on the selection and application of computer-based accounting systems.

Skills and Experience:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in commerce, accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent qualification).
  2. Minimum 2–3 years’ relevant work experience in an accounting role.
  3. Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards and taxation requirements.
  4. Proficiency in accounting software such as MYOB, Xero, BGL and/or QuickBooks.
  5. Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
