To further strengthen our team, we are seeking a qualified Accountant to oversee and manage our financial operations.

Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Accountant to join our growing business. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing budgets, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with statutory and organizational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Prepare and examine financial reports, budgets, and forecasts to support business planning and decision-making.
2. Develop, maintain, and analyze accounting systems and procedures.
3. Provide financial advice to management regarding cost reduction, revenue improvement, and strategic planning.
4. Ensure compliance with relevant taxation, legislation, and statutory reporting obligations.
5. Conduct internal audits and review financial transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance.
6. Prepare financial statements and reports for management, regulators, and other stakeholders.
7. Monitor expenditure and recommend budgetary controls to align with business objectives.
8. Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
9. Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and systems.
10. Liaise with auditors, tax advisors, and external stakeholders as required.

Skills and Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Preffered).
2. Minimum 1 year of accounting or financial management experience.
3. CPA/CA accreditation (or working towards) is highly regarded.
4. Proven experience in accounting or financial management.
5. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
6. Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
7. High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

Work Location

1. Based in Canberra, ACT
2. On-site position (in-person attendance required)

Compensation

1. $80,000 – $90,000 per year
