About the Role:

Betterway Metal Pty Ltd, a leading scrap metal sorting and wholesaling business, is seeking a qualified and experienced Accountant to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the financial operations and strategic growth of our company.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements.
2. Manage daily bookkeeping, accounts receivable/payable, and banking reconciliations.
3. Calculate taxes owed, prepare and lodge BAS and company tax returns.
4. Monitor operating costs, prepare budgets, and ensure profitability.
5. Liaise with banks, ATO, and other external stakeholders to manage financial operations.
6. Process payroll and maintain associated records.

Selection Criteria:

1. Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting or a related field.
2. Minimum two years of accounting experience, preferably in a similar industry.
3. Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero and MYOB.
4. Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
5. Fluency in English; knowledge of Mandarin or Cantonese is an advantage.
