ABOUT THE ROLE
As the Fleet Manager, you will oversee the maintenance, reliability, and optimization of Mobineeds Pty Ltd's diverse vehicle fleet. You will lead preventative maintenance programs, manage compliance requirements, and ensure the safe, cost-effective, and sustainable operation of all assets. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines strategic planning, supplier management, and operational execution – ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working collaboratively across teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Oversee all fleet repairs, maintenance, and preventative maintenance schedules to maximise reliability and vehicle uptime.
• Supervise and direct company mechanics and workshop staff to ensure timely, efficient, and high-quality repairs.
• Monitor workshop productivity, ensuring adherence to service level agreements and turnaround times.
• Liaise with insurers for claim management and maintain accurate fleet service, repair, and registration records.
• Coordinate external suppliers and workshops to achieve cost-effective maintenance solutions.
• Provide technical advice, on-the-job training, and support to operational staff and drivers.
• Manage registrations, roadworthy inspections, and compliance with NHVL, CoR, and WHS requirements.
• Support continuous improvement in fleet safety, cost control, and environmental performance (Green Fleet initiatives).
• Contribute to fleet specification, procurement, and replacement planning in line with company growth targets.
• Monitor telematics data to track vehicle usage, driver behaviour, and maintenance alerts.
• Prepare regular reports on fleet performance, maintenance costs, downtime, and compliance status.
• Develop and enforce fleet policies and ensure vehicles meet safety, branding, and presentation standards.
• Work collaboratively with WHS and Operations teams to ensure compliance, audit readiness, and reporting integrity.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis for fleet maintenance and renewal programs. • Act as the main point of contact for drivers and management regarding fleet availability and operational updates.
ABOUT YOU
• Proven experience as a Fleet Manager, Workshop Supervisor, or Maintenance Coordinator within the automotive or transport sector.
• Comprehensive understanding of vehicle maintenance, workshop operations, and regulatory compliance (NHVL, CoR, WHS).
• Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
• High attention to detail and strong organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to analyse data and make informed decisions to improve fleet performance and cost efficiency.
• Proficiency with fleet management software, maintenance tracking, and reporting systems.
• Hands-on approach with a proactive attitude toward solving operational challenges.
• Valid Australian driver’s licence (Heavy Vehicle licence desirable).
