We are seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team of professionals. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge, excellent analytical skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in formulating and implementing budgetary and accounting policies.
- Prepare financial statements for presentation to boards of directors, management, shareholders, and governing or statutory bodies.
- Conduct financial investigations, prepare analytical reports, and undertake audits.
- Advise on complex matters such as business acquisitions and sales, mergers, capital financing, suspected fraud, insolvency, and taxation.
- Examine operating costs and assess income and expenditure to improve financial performance.
- Provide assurance on the accuracy and compliance of financial reports with statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Offer financial and taxation advice on business structures, strategies, and operations.
- Prepare taxation returns for individuals, partnerships, companies, and trusts.
- Liaise with financial institutions and brokers to establish funds management arrangements.
- Introduce, maintain, and improve accounting systems, including advising on computer-based accounting software.
- Maintain and enhance internal control systems to ensure operational integrity and compliance.
- Appraise cash flow and assess the financial risk of capital investment projects.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, accounting standards, and professional regulations.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CA qualification preferred).
- Proven experience in accounting, auditing, or financial advisory roles.
- Sound knowledge of accounting standards and statutory compliance.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks) and strong computer literacy.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a professional team.
- Registration or licensing may be required for specific services such as auditing.
