Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Taxation Accountant to join our supportive and dynamic team.

About the Role

As a Taxation Accountant, you will manage a diverse client portfolio and provide expert taxation, compliance, and advisory services. You’ll work closely with individuals, companies, partnerships, and trusts — ensuring accuracy, compliance, and proactive tax planning to help clients achieve their financial goals.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Prepare, review, and lodge income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, trusts, and companies.
  2. Prepare and lodge BAS, IAS, FBT, GST, and PAYG statements in line with ATO requirements.
  3. Provide proactive tax planning, compliance, and structuring advice to clients.
  4. Conduct tax reconciliations, working papers, and year-end reporting.
  5. Advise clients on business structures, capital gains, and tax minimisation strategies.
  6. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis.
  7. Ensure compliance with ATO, ASIC, and Australian Accounting Standards.
  8. Liaise directly with clients and build strong professional relationships.
  9. Keep up to date with tax legislation changes and implement relevant updates.
  10. Support junior team members and contribute to process improvements within the firm.

About You

You’re a motivated and detail-oriented professional with a strong technical understanding of Australian taxation and a passion for helping clients succeed. You thrive in a collaborative environment and enjoy taking ownership of your client work.

Skills & Experience

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent (essential).
  2. Minimum 1 year post-qualification experience in public practice accounting.
  3. Strong working knowledge of Australian tax laws and compliance frameworks.
  4. Proficiency with accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, or QuickBooks, and advanced Excel skills.
  5. Excellent communication and analytical skills.
  6. Proven ability to manage multiple clients and meet tight deadlines.

Desirable:

  1. Experience with SMEs, high-net-worth individuals, or SMSFs.
  2. Exposure to payroll, audit, or ATO/ASIC correspondence.
