JB Road Transport Pty Ltd is a growing road transport business based at 1/12-14 Apparel Close, Breakwater. Established in 2020 with a single truck, the company has steadily expanded and now operates a fleet of five vehicles, ranging from a small SUV to semi-trucks. We proudly service both local clients across Geelong and Melbourne, as well as interstate customers, providing reliable and flexible transport solutions tailored to their needs.

About The Role:

This is a great career move for someone who is looking to join JB Road Transport Pty Ltd. We rarely have the need to recruit because of the staff retention rate. The right candidate will be responsible for executing the full responsibilities of a Fleet Manager

The main duties (may include but are not limited to) as a FLEET MANAGER:

- To manage the day-to-day operations of the company’s vehicle fleet, including logistics and driver coordination.

- To select and procure vehicles, deciding on leasing or purchasing, and managing the disposal of old or non-functional vehicles.

- To ensure compliance with road transport regulations and Occupational Health and Safety standards (including temperature control and hygiene standards), and internal company policies.

- To manage the registration, insurance, permits, and licensing for all company vehicles and ensuring timely renewals.

- To coordinate with the clients to understand the delivery requirements, provide advice on vehicle type, and resolving issues or complaints.

- To plan and implement scheduling and transportation routes, ensuring the timely and efficient movement of goods.

- To respond to vehicle breakdowns, accidents, and managing insurance and risk matters.

- To use the fleet management systems and GPS tracking software to optimize delivery times.

- To maintain the business records including vehicle usage logs, fuel consumption, maintenance history, and preparing the operational reports.

Essential requirements:

  1. Prior experience in similar industry
  2. Excellent ability to manage workflow efficiently
  3. Excellent communication skills
  4. Intelligent, ambitious, and highly motivated
  5. Good verbal and written communication skills with excellent attention to detail
  6. Ability to organise and perform own work without direct supervision
  7. A strong team player with the ability to provide support & direction to others
  8. Highly customer service orientated with a positive, 'can-do' approach
  9. Pro-active and efficient with the ability to use own initiative
  10. A good understanding of contract management
  11. Be a self-starter capable of working without direction or micromanagement
  12. Be able to multi-task effectively
  13. Microsoft Office skills are desirable
