CONTRACT ADMINISTRATOR
Salary: $85,000 - $95,000 per annum

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Contract Administrator to join our client's team. This role is crucial in managing contracts, tender processes, and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations within the construction and plumbing services sector.
Key Responsibilities
Contract Management:
- Prepare, review, and administer construction and service contracts
- Ensure all contractual obligations are met by all parties
- Maintain comprehensive contract documentation and records
- Monitor contract performance and compliance throughout project lifecycles
- Manage contract variations, extensions, and amendments
Tender and Procurement:
- Coordinate and manage the tender process for projects
- Prepare tender documentation, specifications, and contract schedules
- Evaluate tender submissions and prepare comparative analysis
- Liaise with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers during tender processes
- Negotiate contract terms and conditions with clients and suppliers
Financial Administration:
- Process progress claims and payment certificates
- Monitor project budgets and financial performance against contracts
- Prepare cost estimates and budget forecasts
- Review and approve invoices in accordance with contract terms
- Manage retention schedules and final account settlements
Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and codes
- Maintain insurance certificates, licenses, and regulatory documentation
- Identify and manage contractual risks and disputes
- Prepare reports on contract performance and compliance issues
- Coordinate with legal advisors on contractual matters when required
Stakeholder Communication:
- Act as the primary point of contact for contractual matters
- Coordinate communication between clients, contractors, and project teams
- Prepare contract correspondence, notices, and formal communications
- Attend site meetings and document contractual discussions
- Maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date contract registers
- Prepare regular reports on contract status and performance
- Manage document control systems for contracts and variations
- Ensure proper filing and archiving of all contractual documentation
Essential Requirements
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management, Commerce, or related field
- Relevant qualifications in Contract Administration or Project Management highly regarded
Experience:
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience in contract administration
- Experience in the construction, building services, or trades industry
- Proven track record in managing multiple contracts simultaneously
- Strong understanding of Australian construction contracts and standards
Skills:
- Excellent knowledge of contract law and construction industry practices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and contract management software
- Strong numerical and financial analysis skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving capabilities
Desirable Requirements
- Experience with hydraulic plumbing or fire services projects
- Knowledge of AS 2124, AS 4000, or other Australian Standard contracts
- Familiarity with WHS legislation and compliance requirements
- Experience with project management software (e.g., Procore, Aconex, or similar)
- Understanding of building codes and plumbing regulations
- Certification in Contract Management or relevant professional development
