Exquisite Kitchens Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Draftsperson to join our professional team. We are a reputable provider of high-quality building renovation and kitchen joinery solutions, committed to excellence in design, documentation, and craftsmanship. Position: Draftsperson
Minimum Experience Required: 1 year in a drafting role
Employment Type: Full-time
Salary: $75,000 - $85,000 plus superannuation

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Undertaking on-site measurements and surveys to verify existing building conditions, structural constraints, and service locations prior to commencing design documentation.
- Interpreting architectural concepts, client briefs, and functional requirements to produce accurate technical drawings and detailed joinery documentation suitable for construction and installation.
- Preparing scaled floor plans, elevations, sections, and joinery shop drawings using CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, Cabinet Vision, SketchUp, or equivalent), ensuring precision and adherence to drafting and industry standards.
- Producing 3D visualisations and modelled layouts to effectively communicate design intent to clients, project managers, and installation teams.
- Developing comprehensive documentation packages, including fabrication drawings, with accurate dimensions, annotations, and assembly specifications.
- Specifying materials, finishes, fixtures, fittings, and hardware in accordance with design requirements, availability, performance criteria, and compliance standards.
- Reviewing and applying relevant building codes, Australian Standards, and regulatory requirements to ensure compliant design detailing and spatial planning.
- Coordinating documentation and information flow between designers, suppliers, contractors, and other stakeholders to support procurement, fabrication, and on-site installation.
- Revising and updating drawings to reflect design modifications, updated measurements, and site-specific installation requirements, while maintaining controlled and traceable documentation records.
- Preparing documentation required for building approvals or certification processes, including plans, specifications, and compliance notes.
- Liaising with installers, tradespeople, and project supervisors during construction to clarify technical matters, resolve spatial conflicts, and ensure accurate execution of joinery works.
- Maintaining organised digital project files, drawing registers, and version-controlled documents to support continuity and quality across all project stages.
Applicant Requirements
- Minimum of one (1) year drafting experience; building renovations, joinery or cabinetry drafting experience will be highly regarded.
- Proficiency in CAD software relevant to joinery drafting.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and time management.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
- Sound understanding of construction methods and materials (desirable).
