Position Purpose

The Developer Programmer plays a crucial role in supporting the company’s digital infrastructure and operational systems.

This role is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software solutions that manage logistics, warehouse inventory, order tracking, and customer portals.

The position requires a technically skilled professional who can translate business requirements into practical software solutions that improve efficiency, data integrity, and operational visibility across departments.

This role directly contributes to Biviano Direct’s strategic goal of maintaining seamless communication, real-time data accuracy, and technological competitiveness in the wholesale produce sector.

Key Responsibilities

Software Design & Development

• Design, develop, and maintain applications to support order processing, delivery scheduling, and inventory management.

• Customize and improve internal systems to enhance traceability, reporting accuracy, and compliance with HACCP standards.

• Build and manage APIs and integrations between logistics, accounting, and customer-facing systems.

• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code aligned with business requirements and industry best practices.

System Integration & Optimization

• Analyze and refine existing software processes to improve speed, reliability, and user experience.

• Integrate various digital systems to streamline data flow across warehousing, delivery, and sales departments.

• Maintain and enhance applications for mobile, web, and back-end functionality to support multi-channel operations.

Database & Data Management

• Design and manage database systems for efficient data storage, retrieval, and analytics.

• Ensure data integrity and implement version control, backups, and recovery mechanisms.

• Support management reporting by automating dashboards and improving access to real-time operational data.

Testing, Documentation & Support

• Conduct thorough testing, debugging, and deployment of new and updated systems.

• Maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, code annotations, and version records.

• Provide user support and training to non-technical staff on internal systems.

• Coordinate with warehouse, logistics, and delivery teams to troubleshoot and improve digital workflows.

Innovation & Business Support

• Evaluate new digital tools and technologies that enhance supply-chain visibility and customer service.

• Support automation initiatives that reduce manual entry, errors, and communication delays.

• Recommend and implement scalable solutions to support business growth and operational resilience.

• Ensure ongoing system compliance with data protection, security, and operational standards.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

• Relevant qualifications in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or an equivalent field, or equivalent practical experience in software development.

• Minimum 1 year of relevant hands-on experience in commercial software development or programming.

• The role requires strong skills in Java, Python, HTML, and SQL to ensure smooth operation, system reliability and improved business efficiency.

• Demonstrated ability to design, test, and maintain software systems supporting operational and business functions.

• Strong understanding of databases, system integrations, and application security practices.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to work across diverse operational teams.
