About the Opportunity 

A well-established nonprofit organization, headquartered in Downtown Ottawa, is looking for a Bilingual IT Support Specialist to join their growing Operations team. Working closely with the IT Manager, this person will provide hands-on technical support to staff across the IT landscape from software and hardware to networks and security. Fluent bilingualism in both official languages is imperative. Moreover, this is a hybrid role consisting of three days/week in-office.  

Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Work in tandem with the IT Manager and external IT service providers to support internal users, maintain system health and integrity, further advance process automation, etc. 
  • Software and hardware installations and configurations, Microsoft 365 administration (SharePoint, Teams, Exchange, OneDrive, etc.), data recovery and troubleshooting, etc. 
  • Management of IT asset inventory and continuous research into emerging industry trends, solutions, etc. 
About You

The successful candidate will have the following:
  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Networking, or similar
  • 2+ years of industry experience in an IT operations and technical support/system administration capacity within a Windows environment
  • Experience leading a holistic IT function managing everything from software and hardware systems, network administration, security protocols, etc. 
  • Extensive Office 365 knowledge/experience; SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, Exchange, SharePoint, etc. 
  • Bilingualism in both official languages (English & French) is imperative
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills as well as the ability to thrive both in a team and autonomously

This is a permanent role with one of the region’s top employers. As this organization employs a hybrid work model, only candidates local to the Ottawa/NCR will be considered.
