We are looking for an Electrical Engineering Technician to join the team! In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical support to engineers throughout the design, development, and operational stages of electrical systems. This is a full-time ongoing position, based in Kewdale, WA.
Main tasks:
-Create and develop technical drawings, plans, and schematics for various electrical installations and circuit systems.
-Collaborate with team members in planning and arranging electrical layouts for related components.
-Conduct testing by gathering data, and perform calculations, and do analysis.
-Estimate material requirements, project budgeting and resource planning.
-Examine designs and products to verify adherence to specifications, standards, and regulatory guidelines.
-Install, test, modify, and repair electrical systems and equipment in compliance with industry standards and safety protocols.
-Handle electrical workshop tasks, including setting up protective relay assemblies, metering devices, and indicators.
-Support research and experimental initiatives to drive improvements and advancements in electrical engineering solutions.
Required/Relevant Qualifications & Work Experience:
-Minimum of a relevant Diploma qualification plus minimum 2 years’ relevant work experience in the last 5 years.
-3 years’ relevant work experience may substitute the formal qualification.
Required/Relevant Skills & Knowledge:
-Skilled in software for accurate electrical schematics.
-Understanding of electrical installations and safety standards.
-Proficient in data analysis, cost estimation, and complex calculations.
-Precise in design, inspection, and troubleshooting.
-Experience with equipment installation, testing, and repair.
-Ability to estimate material costs and quantities.
-Effective communicator and team player.
-Strong time management and multitasking abilities.
Annual salary will be between $80,000.00 to $90,000.00 (plus superannuation) depending on level of experience.
