The Role
As Retail Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of our Mobil Barcaldine store, ensuring smooth functioning, exceptional customer service, and achievement of sales targets. This hands-on role involves leading a team, managing inventory, and contributing to the overall success of the business in a regional setting. You'll play a key part in fostering a positive work environment while adapting to the unique needs of our community-focused outlet.
Responsibilities
- Lead and motivate a team of retail staff, including rostering, training, and performance management to ensure high standards of service.
- Oversee store operations, including stock control, merchandising, and maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
- Manage financial aspects such as budgeting, sales reporting, cash handling, and achieving revenue goals.
- Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints, and implement strategies to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements, including fuel handling protocols.
- Collaborate with suppliers for inventory procurement and monitor stock levels to minimize waste and optimize turnover.
- Analyze sales data and implement promotional activities to drive business growth.
- Coordinate with head office on operational updates and contribute to strategic planning for the store.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Proven experience (at least 2-3 years) in retail management, preferably in a fuel, convenience, or similar fast-paced retail environment.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and manage effective teams.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
- Proficiency in point-of-sale systems, inventory management software, and basic financial reporting.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations, particularly in retail or fuel sectors.
- A relevant qualification such as a Diploma in Retail Management, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays, as required in a retail setting.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to relocate or commute to Barcaldine, QLD.
- Australian work rights are essential.
