The Role

As Retail Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of our Mobil Barcaldine store, ensuring smooth functioning, exceptional customer service, and achievement of sales targets. This hands-on role involves leading a team, managing inventory, and contributing to the overall success of the business in a regional setting. You'll play a key part in fostering a positive work environment while adapting to the unique needs of our community-focused outlet.

Responsibilities

1. Lead and motivate a team of retail staff, including rostering, training, and performance management to ensure high standards of service.
2. Oversee store operations, including stock control, merchandising, and maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
3. Manage financial aspects such as budgeting, sales reporting, cash handling, and achieving revenue goals.
4. Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints, and implement strategies to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
5. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements, including fuel handling protocols.
6. Collaborate with suppliers for inventory procurement and monitor stock levels to minimize waste and optimize turnover.
7. Analyze sales data and implement promotional activities to drive business growth.
8. Coordinate with head office on operational updates and contribute to strategic planning for the store.

Requirements and Qualifications

1. Proven experience (at least 2-3 years) in retail management, preferably in a fuel, convenience, or similar fast-paced retail environment.
2. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and manage effective teams.
3. Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
4. Proficiency in point-of-sale systems, inventory management software, and basic financial reporting.
5. Knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations, particularly in retail or fuel sectors.
6. A relevant qualification such as a Diploma in Retail Management, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
7. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays, as required in a retail setting.
8. Valid driver's license and willingness to relocate or commute to Barcaldine, QLD.
