Accountant – Full Time

Salary: $75,000 – $85,000 + superannuation

About Us

Arrow Foods is a rapidly growing national importer and distributor supplying major wholesalers/retailers across Australia. Due to ongoing expansion, we are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our finance team and oversee the company’s accounting and reporting functions.

The Role

This role is responsible for delivering high-level accounting, reporting, taxation, and advisory services within the business. You will work directly with company directors and cross-functional teams to support financial oversight and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

1. Contribute to the development and improvement of budgeting frameworks and accounting procedures
2. Prepare detailed financial reports and statements for directors, management, and regulatory bodies
3. Analyse financial activity, investigate irregularities, and prepare advisory reports
4. Review business expenses, operating performance, and revenue trends
5. Verify that financial information is accurate, compliant, and aligned with statutory reporting requirements
6. Provide guidance on business tax matters, financial structures, and operational planning
7. Prepare and review the organisation’s taxation obligations
8. Communicate with banks, brokers, and financial partners to manage funding and financial arrangements
9. Implement and maintain accounting systems, and advise on financial software tools
10. Strengthen internal controls and ensure financial processes remain robust
11. Assist in evaluating cash flow positions, funding needs, and financial risks associated with major projects
12. Work with procurement, logistics, and operations to strengthen financial performance

About You

1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
2. Minimum 2 years’ professional accounting experience
3. Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and taxation rules
4. Strong analytical, time-management and problem-solving skills
5. Experience with accounting software (Xero/MYOB/QuickBooks etc.)
6. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Highly Regarded but Not Essential

1. CA/CPA qualified or currently studying
2. Experience in FMCG, wholesale, import or logistics industries
