EMPLOYMENT TYPE: FULL-TIME, 38 hrs/week

Brickfields Bakery, one of Sydney’s most respected artisan bakeries, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Accountant to join our Marrickville team. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, analytical, and eager to support a growing hospitality business.

About the Role

As our Accountant, you will manage key financial operations and ensure our business remains compliant, efficient, and financially sound. You will work closely with management to support decision-making and long-term planning.

Key Responsibilities:

In addition to general accounting duties, this role aligns with ANZSCO responsibilities for Accountants and includes:

? Assisting in developing budgetary and accounting policies

? Preparing financial statements for presentation to management and regulatory bodies

? Conducting financial investigations and preparing analytical reports

? Undertaking audits and advising on matters such as business purchases, mergers,

capital financing, insolvency, fraud, and taxation

? Reviewing operational costs, income streams, and expenditure

? Ensuring accuracy and statutory compliance of financial records and reports

? Providing business and taxation advice related to structures, planning, and operations

? Preparing tax returns for individuals and organisations

? Liaising with financial institutions and brokers to arrange funds management

? Implementing and maintaining accounting systems, including recommending computer-based systems

? Maintaining internal control systems

? Assessing cash flow and financial risks as required

Qualifications &Skills:

? Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent

? Proven experience as an Accountant (hospitality/food industry experience

advantageous)

? Strong grasp of Australian accounting standards and compliance

? Proficiency in accounting software (Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, etc.)

? Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills

? Attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team
