Central Logistics Australia Pty Ltd, based in Melbourne, VIC, operates in the freight transportation arrangement industry, specializing in coordinating and managing the movement of goods. We are currently seeking an Accountant to join our team in a full-time capacity. This role will involve overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and supporting strategic business decisions through accurate financial reporting and analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and summarize financial records by collecting data and preparing accurate cash flow statements and other financial reports for management.
- Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements in compliance with relevant statutory requirements.
- Assist in the preparation, monitoring, and control of the annual budget, identifying variances and providing insightful analysis.
- Ensure timely preparation of BAS, PAYG summaries, GST, and other applicable tax obligations.
- Review and ensure accurate account coding, invoice approval, and substantiation in line with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Support internal and external audit processes and ensure compliance with audit standards and regulations.
- Maintain and enforce financial controls related to payroll, credit control, general ledger, and accounts payable, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.
- Develop and document accounting policies, financial workflows, and processes to enhance operational efficiency and accuracy.
- Contribute to the maintenance and upgrading of accounting systems, ensuring they remain effective, efficient, and aligned with business needs.

Qualifications & Experience
- Qualification in Finance & Accounting
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in an accounting, project coordination, or administrative role
- Proficient in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Office skills
- Strong problem-solving capabilities and attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

Salary : $80000 - $ 85000 plus superannuation
