Full-Time Manufacturing Positions

Advanced Fabrication Technology is a precision sheet metal manufacturer in Hayward. We are hiring experienced manufacturing professionals as well as dependable individuals who are interested in learning a skilled trade.
If you have experience in sheet metal fabrication, welding, CNC machining, inspection, painting or manufacturing—or if you are mechanically inclined and willing to learn—we would like to hear from you.

Available Shifts
First Shift: Monday–Friday, 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m.
Second Shift: Monday–Thursday, approximately 2:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m.
Start and end times may be flexible depending on the position.

Experienced Positions

NC Punch Setup Operator
• Setup and operate Amada NC punch equipment
• Previous setup and operating experience required
• Ability to read drawings, job travelers and manufacturing instructions

Laser Operator
• Operate Amada and Mitsubishi laser equipment
• Previous sheet metal laser-operating experience required
• Setup experience is strongly preferred

Brake Press Setup Operator
• Minimum two years of brake press operating experience preferred
• Amada brake press experience strongly preferred
• Ability to read drawings, travelers, dimensions and tolerances
• Ability to perform setups and inspect completed work
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds

Openings available on first and second shifts.

MIG/TIG Sheet Metal Welder
• MIG and TIG welding experience required
• Precision sheet metal or similar production welding experience preferred
• Ability to read drawings and produce clean, consistent welds
• Stainless steel and aluminum experience is a plus

CNC Machinist
• Minimum two years of CNC machining and setup experience
• Programming experience is a plus
• Ability to read drawings, specifications and GD&T
• Knowledge of tooling, fixtures and machine accessories
• Experience using calipers, micrometers and gauges
• Strong mechanical aptitude and shop math skills

Mechanical Inspector
• Five or more years of manufacturing inspection experience preferred
• Perform in-process and final inspections
• Inspect dimensional, functional and cosmetic requirements
• Read drawings, tolerances and manufacturing documentation
• Use calipers, micrometers, gauges and other inspection equipment
• Precision sheet metal inspection experience is strongly preferred

Powder-Coat Painter
• Industrial powder-coating experience preferred
• Experience preparing, spraying and visually inspecting finished parts
• Second-shift availability preferred
• Training may be available for a candidate with related painting experience

Silkscreen Technician
• Previous industrial silkscreen experience required
• Part-time or second-shift opportunity
• Contract arrangement may also be considered

Entry-Level and Trainable Positions
Previous manufacturing experience is helpful but not required for every opening. Training may be provided to dependable candidates who demonstrate a strong work ethic, attention to detail and willingness to learn.

Available positions include:
• Grinder and deburr operator
• Hardware insertion operator
• Paint-prep technician
• Assembly operator
• Packaging and shipping associate
• Shop helper and secondary-operations technician

These positions may involve:
• Grinding and deburring fabricated parts
• Installing hardware using manufacturing equipment
• Cleaning, masking and plugging parts before painting
• Tapping, assembling and inspecting components
• Packaging finished products for shipment
• Reading job travelers and following written instructions
