About The Balloon Guy
The Balloon Guy is a growing Los Angeles-based event décor and entertainment company specializing in custom balloon installations, balloon décor, balloon twisting, face painting, caricature artists, magicians, airbrush tattoos, and other event entertainment.
We work with private clients, corporate clients, event planners, hotels, venues, brands, and production companies throughout Los Angeles.
We are looking for a highly organized, polished, sales-driven **Sales Manager** to take ownership of our inbound sales process and help turn more inquiries into booked events.
The Role
This is a key position within the company.
You will manage incoming leads from the moment a potential client contacts us through the point that their event is booked and handed off to our Operations team.
You should be confident speaking with a wide range of clients, from someone planning a birthday party to an executive assistant, event planner, hotel, production company, or major corporate client.
The ideal candidate is warm, professional, persuasive, organized, persistent, detail-oriented, and excellent at follow-up.
Most importantly, you take ownership of the sales pipeline and make sure qualified leads do not fall through the cracks.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Lead Management
* Respond quickly to incoming phone calls, emails, texts, website inquiries, and other leads
* Speak with clients to understand their event, vision, budget, venue, timing, and needs
* Recommend appropriate balloon décor and entertainment services
* Prepare and send estimates and proposals
* Follow up consistently with prospective clients until they book, decline, or are no longer qualified
* Convert inbound leads into booked events
* Confidently ask for the sale
* Upsell and cross-sell additional services when appropriate
* Build strong relationships with repeat clients, corporate clients, event planners, hotels, venues, and production companies
* Re-engage past clients and previous opportunities when appropriate
Pipeline Ownership
* Maintain an accurate and organized CRM
* Keep every lead's status, notes, and next action updated
* Make sure follow-ups happen on time
* Identify high-value and high-priority opportunities
* Keep the owner informed about major opportunities and important sales issues
* Track lost opportunities and reasons clients did not book
* Help improve sales scripts, follow-up systems, proposal processes, and conversion rates
* Take responsibility for the overall health of the sales pipeline
Booking & Operations Handoff
Once a client books, you will:
* Confirm that all important sales information has been collected
* Create and maintain an accurate job/event record
* Document the client's expectations, products purchased, pricing, venue, dates, timing, and other important details
* Clearly hand the booked event over to the Operations team
* Communicate unusual promises, special requests, potential complications, or VIP/high-value client expectations
* Work with Operations when clarification from the client is needed
Operations takes ownership of the event after booking, but Sales is responsible for making sure the handoff is clear, complete, and accurate.
Client Experience
You will be one of the primary voices of The Balloon Guy.
You will be expected to:
* Provide a polished, professional, friendly experience from the client's first interaction
* Communicate clearly and confidently by phone, email, text, and in person
* Help clients make decisions when they are unsure what they need
* Handle pricing questions and objections professionally
* Set realistic expectations about what we can and cannot provide
* Accurately document important client conversations and commitments
* Represent the company professionally with high-end private and corporate clients
Sales Performance
This is a results-oriented position.
Performance will be measured using metrics including:
* Lead response time
* Follow-up completion
* Number of qualified opportunities
* Close/conversion rate
* Revenue booked
* Average order value
* Sales by lead source
* Lost opportunities and reasons for loss
* Accuracy and cleanliness of the CRM
* Quality of client communication and handoffs
You will participate in regular team meetings to review current opportunities, booked revenue, pipeline health, challenges, and priorities.
