Base pay: $18–$20/hour + tips + commissions

Love cutting hair but don’t love late nights, having to build your own clientele, or a traditional salon environment?

Sharkey’s Cuts for Kids – Hayward is growing, and we’re looking for licensed Hair Stylists and Barbers to join our team!

We specialize in haircuts for kids ages 0–14 and create a fun experience for families with themed car chairs, their favorite shows, Xbox stations, and our Tween Lounge.

No children’s salon experience is required. If you’re comfortable with boys’ haircuts and clippers, enjoy working with kids, and bring a positive attitude, we’d love to meet you.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Provide high-quality haircuts and styling services for children
• Perform boys’ haircuts and confidently use clippers
• Help children feel comfortable and have a positive haircut experience
• Communicate with parents to understand the haircut and style they’re looking for
• Maintain a clean, organized workstation
• Create a welcoming experience for every family

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Active California Cosmetology or Barber license
• Comfortable performing boys’ haircuts and using clippers
• Friendly, patient and comfortable working with children and parents
• Reliable and team-oriented
• Weekend availability
• 1+ year of haircutting experience preferred, but not required

Experience with children is a plus, but we’re happy to train the right stylist who has strong haircutting skills and a great attitude.

SALON HOURS

Monday–Friday: 10:30 AM–6:30 PM
Saturday: 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
Sunday: 10:00 AM–5:00 PM
