Mango Man Cooks! is looking for outgoing, dependable people to represent our locally made specialty sauces at holiday markets and events throughout the Madison area.

This is an active sales position for someone who enjoys talking with people, introducing them to new products and turning those conversations into sales. After training, representatives will independently operate assigned markets and events, with responsibility for presenting the Mango Man brand professionally and creating a fun, engaging experience for customers.

## What You’ll Do

- Independently operate assigned Mango Man Cooks! markets and events after training
- Actively approach and engage customers, introduce our products, explain how they can be used and encourage sales
- Prepare and offer product samples, including simple quesadilla samples made with tortillas, cheese, onions and our sauces using a tabletop griddle
- Process cash and electronic payments
- Keep the market display attractive, organized, clean and well stocked throughout the event
- Track product and sales information and accurately reconcile inventory and sales at the end of the event
- Transport products, equipment and market materials when required
- Set up and tear down market displays, which may range from a simple indoor display to a full outdoor setup with tent, tables, sampling equipment and signage
- Help build relationships with customers beyond the event by encouraging social-media follows, email/recipe-list signups and online reorders
- Capture occasional photos, short videos or raw content from events for Mango Man’s social-media use
- Clean the market area and sampling equipment and return products, equipment and supplies as required

## Who We’re Looking For

The right person for this position is:

- Outgoing, friendly and comfortable approaching and talking with people
- Genuinely interested in selling and comfortable actively encouraging customers to purchase
- Dependable, punctual and able to independently take responsibility for an assigned market or event
- Positive, energetic and comfortable working in busy public environments
- Organized and attentive to details
- Comfortable handling payments, inventory and basic sales records
- Able to communicate comfortably with customers in conversational English
- Willing to learn our products and how to demonstrate and sell them

Previous sales, retail, food-service, farmers-market or event experience can be helpful, but it is not required. Reliability, personality and a genuine willingness to actively sell are especially important.

Most positions require a **valid driver’s license and clean driving record**.

## Schedule

This is **part-time, event-based seasonal work**. Applicants do **not** need to be available for every scheduled market date.

Current holiday-market dates include:

**Saturdays:**
November 7, 14, 21 & 28
December 5, 12 & 19

**Sundays:**
December 6 & 20

**Weekdays:**
December 14–18
December 21–23

Additional market dates may become available.

Successful holiday employees will receive **priority consideration for additional market opportunities in the spring.**

## Compensation

**$20/hour for market work, including required setup and teardown.**

In addition to hourly pay, sales representatives can earn a sales incentive based on total event/day gross sales:

- **$1,000+ in sales — 5% of total sales ($50+)**
- **$1,500+ in sales — 7% of total sales ($105+)**
- **$2,000+ in sales — 10% of total sales ($200+)**

**Required business driving time is paid at $15/hour.**

Mango Man Cooks! uses business vehicles for most markets. When an eligible personal vehicle is needed for business travel, employees receive a **company-set vehicle reimbursement above the cost of gas**, in addition to paid driving time.

When overnight travel is required, **accommodations are arranged and paid for by Mango Man Cooks!** Off-duty hotel time is not paid.

## Physical Demands

This is an active position involving standing and walking for extended periods, transporting products and market supplies, loading and unloading, and setting up and breaking down market displays. Depending on the event, work may take place indoors or outdoors in varying weather conditions.
