TEMP-TO-HIRE OPPORTUNITY | 40 HOURS PER WEEK | DAY SHIFT!
- PAY: $19-$21/hour (based upon experience)
- HOURS: 40 hours per week
- SCHEDULE: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM

LTL Dispatcher Job Description:
Superior Skilled Trades is seeking an experienced LTL Dispatcher to perform logistics and dispatching functions in a fast-paced warehouse environment. The Dispatcher will be responsible for reviewing, preparing, and routing shipments while coordinating drivers, work crews, vehicles, and equipment according to schedules and customer requests.
The ideal candidate will have previous LTL freight carrier experience, strong communication and organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining excellent customer service.
Responsibilities for LTL Dispatcher:
- Calculate delivery routes and delivery times and make necessary adjustments based on sales and customer needs.
- Establish cost-effective delivery routes that comply with Federal DOT guidelines while maintaining customer service and satisfaction.
- Ensure the safe and timely pickup and delivery of shipments.
- Schedule and dispatch drivers, work crews, vehicles, and equipment to appropriate locations.
- Relay work orders, instructions, and other information between drivers, crews, supervisors, and customers.
- Communicate with employees using telephones, two-way radios, and Outlook email.
- Work with supervisors and customers to resolve scheduling, service, and equipment issues.
- Prepare daily schedules and work orders.
- Maintain organized records of work requests, customer requests, completed work, service charges, expenses, and inventory.
- Manage communications within assigned company territories.
Qualifications for LTL Dispatcher:
- 1+ year of experience working with LTL freight carriers required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and logistics software.
- Strong clerical and organizational skills with the ability to track schedules, routes, and personnel.
- Comfortable using computers for scheduling and dispatching duties.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple events simultaneously.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and remain calm in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to quickly and accurately relay information.
- Forklift operating experience is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Position works primarily in a warehouse environment.
- Constant telephone activity; must be comfortable initiating and maintaining conversations.
- Position is sedentary approximately 80% or more of the workday.
- Duties may involve sitting, standing, walking, reaching, bending, squatting, and kneeling.
- Must be able to work on multiple concurrent tasks while handling frequent interruptions.
- Moderate workplace noise levels.
PPE Requirements:
Once an offer is made, the candidate will need:
- Steel-toe boots extending 5 inches over the ankle
- Safety vest
- Hard hat
- Safety glasses
- Gloves
Additional Requirements for LTL Dispatcher:
- Must be eligible to work in the United States.
- Must have reliable transportation to the job site.
- Pre-employment 5-panel drug screen required.
- Pre-employment background check required.
