Hiring: Residential Housing Manager - DeKalb, IL

Compensation: $35-$50 per Hour

Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable, organized, and hands-on Residential House Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations, tenant turnover, and facility upkeep for four local student housing properties in DeKalb, IL. You will act as the primary on-site eyes and ears for the owner, ensuring smooth room turnover, clean common spaces, prompt maintenance, and high tenant satisfaction. This is a part-time position in which hours are highly flexible. Pay range is between $2,000 to $4,000, depending on the number of properties managed and performance. Successful managers will earn $50+ per hour.



Key Responsibilities

Room Showings & Onboarding: Conduct tours for prospective tenants, handle lease signings, collect initial deposits, and issue smart lock PINs.

Software & Data Management: Update tenant profiles, lease terms, rent schedules, and move-in/move-out records in the property management software.

Common Area Housekeeping: Perform weekly routine cleaning and upkeep of shared kitchens, bathrooms, hallways, and laundry facilities.

Light Hands-On Maintenance: Directly handle basic repairs, such as replacing lightbulbs, changing HVAC air filters, and clearing minor drain clogs.

Vendor & Work Order Coordination: Act as the primary point of contact for tenant repair requests, logging them in the software and dispatching approved local contractors for major repairs.

Move-In/Move-Out & Safety Inspections: Perform room condition photo walkthroughs at tenant transitions and conduct monthly property checks to ensure code compliance.

Rule Enforcement & Resident
Communication: Enforce house quiet hours, parking, and cleanliness standards while maintaining regular communication with residents.
