About Prattum Gallery

Prattum Gallery is a new contemporary art gallery opening in the historic Kahler Grand Hotel, directly across from Mayo Clinic in downtown Rochester, Minnesota.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, organized, and personable Gallery Assistant to help oversee daily operations, engage with visitors, and support the gallery’s growth.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone interested in art, design, culture, and small business operations to play an important role in establishing a new creative destination in Rochester.

Key Responsibilities

* Oversee day-to-day gallery operations, including opening and closing the space.
* Welcome visitors, discuss exhibited artwork, and assist with sales and transactions.
* Manage and create content for the gallery’s social media platforms, particularly Instagram and Facebook.
* Assist with organizing exhibitions, opening receptions, and special events.
* Communicate with artists, collectors, and potential clients.
* Maintain a professional, welcoming, and beautifully presented gallery environment.
* Support marketing initiatives, community outreach, and other administrative tasks.

Ideal Candidate

* Friendly, professional, dependable, and comfortable working independently.
* Strong communication and organizational skills.
* Interest in contemporary art, architecture, design, or culture.
* Familiarity with Instagram, Facebook, and basic digital marketing.
* Previous experience in retail, hospitality, galleries, or customer service is a plus.
* Self-motivated, creative, and excited to contribute ideas to a growing business.

Hours & Compensation

The position offers flexible part-time hours, generally anticipated to be 10:00 AM–3:00 PM Monday to Friday, approximately 20–25 hours per week. Scheduling can be discussed based on availability.

Compensation is $15-$25 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience, with opportunities for performance-based bonuses.
