Position Overview

The Truck Scale Attendant is responsible for accurately weighing inbound and outbound loads, processing transactions, and serving as a key point of contact for customers. This role requires strong attention to detail, organization, and the ability to handle a steady flow of traffic in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Weigh incoming and outgoing trucks using computerized scale systems
Accurately record weights, materials, and customer information
Issue scale tickets, receipts, and transaction documentation
Communicate with drivers, customers, and yard personnel to ensure smooth flow of traffic
Verify materials and ensure proper classification and pricing
Maintain accurate records for reporting and auditing purposes
Handle cash, credit, and account transactions as needed
Monitor yard traffic and assist with directing vehicles safely
Maintain a clean and organized scale house environment
Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and compliance requirements

Qualifications

1–3 years of experience in administrative, cashier, or industrial scale operations preferred
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Basic computer skills (data entry, Microsoft Office, or scale software systems)
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
Reliable, punctual, and professional
Pass pre-employment screening, health assessment and drug screen

Preferred Experience

Experience in scrap metal, recycling, trucking, or logistics industries
Familiarity with material grading and pricing (ferrous/non-ferrous)
Experience handling cash transactions and daily reconciliations
Knowledge of scale systems and ticketing processes
